Aussies take Las Vegas

Craig Alexander grabbed his second 70.3 World Championship title, but this time it happened at the new venue in Las Vegas. Melissa Rollison fulfilled all pre-race hype and expectations and ran away with the women's title.

Verzbicas wins Junior Worlds

American Lukas Verzbicas dedicated his at the ITU Junior World Championships win to teammate Kevin McDowell, ill with Hodgkins lymphoma; fellow American Tony Smoragiewicz took bronze.

Morales, Jacobs win IM Wisconsin

Ezequiel Morales of Argentina's 8:45:18 topped Stefan Schmid of Austria by 12 minutes 33 seconds; Jessica Jacobs erased Meredith Kessler's big lead off the bike to win Ironman Wisconsin by 9 minutes 42 seconds.

Alistair Brownlee superb in Beijing

Alistair Brownlee put on a dominating performance in Beijing and grabbed the 2011 ITU World Championship title. Sven Riederer finished second on the day but third placed Jonathan Brownlee grabbed the runner-up spot in the series.

Mathew Sharp from Great Britain won gold at the ITU U23 World Championships In Beijing, China and fellow Brits David McNamee and Tom Bishop earned silver and bronze. American Greg Billington finished fourth.

A Gina Crawford update
