Pallant-Browne Dominates at Luxembourg 70.3

Emma Pallant-Brown of Great Britain combined a tied-for-women’s second-best 28:41 swim, a second-fastest 2:25:55 bike split and a by-far women’s-best 1:19:32 half marathon to finish in 4:17:43 with a 7:24 margin over Lydia Dant of Great Britain and 10:39 over 3rd-place finisher Marta Bernardi of Italy.

Women

Justine Mathieux of France led the swim with a 28:36 split which gave her a 5 seconds lead on Pallant-Browne and Nina Derron of Switzerland and 35 seconds on Marta Bernardo of Italy.

After women’s–best 2:22:33 bike split, Lydia Dant overcame a 3:19 deficit after her 8th best 3:19 swim split to arrive first at T2, 2 mseconds ahead of Pallant-Browne and 5:57 ahead of Marta Bernardi, 6:00 ahead of Diede Diederiks of Netherlands and 7:03 ahead of Nina Derron of Switzerland.

Whereupon Pallant-Browne jetted away from the field on her way to a race-best 1:19:32 half marathon to finish in 4:17:43 with a 7:24 margin over Lydia Dant (1:26:31 run split) and 10:39 over third place finisher Marta Bernardi (1:24:04 run split).
