Thompson, Wassner both three-peat Philly Tri

Super-cyclist David Thompson gave up 55 seconds on the swim and a shocking 54 seconds on the bike to challenger Andrew Yoder, but earned his Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon three-peat with a 33:45 to 36:35 advantage on the run. The Saint Paul, Minnesota victor’s 1:49:52 topped the Columbia, Pennsylvania runner-up by exactly 60 seconds.

"I would have liked to catch up to Andrew on the bike. But, he's riding really well, and I'm not riding as well I was before my hernia and other injuries last year. So, I wasn't surprise, but I wasn't worried either. I figured I still had a good chance of running him down." said Thompson to slowtwitch.

Wassner, coming off a disappointing 24th place finish at last weekend’s Dextro Energy World Championship Series Round 3 in Washington DC, held off Kerry Spearing of Canada by 38 seconds, winning her third straight Philadelphia title in 2:02:22.
