Jamie Riddle Explains His Felt IA 2.0 Set Up for Kona

A month ago, at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship Nice, Jamie Riddle garnered lots of attention over his bike set up – the South African chose to go with an aero road frame on the challenging Nice course. Here in Kona, though, it’s all tri bike – Riddle will be on Felt’s IA 2.0 and has dialled the bike in to optimize his performance here on the Big Island on Saturday.
Riddle started the year off by putting on quite a show at his home-country race – IRONMAN South Africa. After leading out of the water, he remained in front for roughly 140 km of the bike before eventual champion Matthew Marquardt took the lead. Riddle would suffer through the run to finish 21st. Since then he’s enjoyed a number of top-10 finishes, including a pair of sevenths at the IRONMAN European Championship Frankfurt and at those 70.3 worlds in Nice. Always near the front out of the water, we can expect Riddle to be amongst the leaders heading down the Queen K. Nick Chase caught up with Riddle to chat about his bike set up:

I would like to ask why the aerobar is Other. I thiink it is a a Tetsuo and every bike brand is really proud to have their products on a bike. Instead of writing other, it would be great if you could ask the question to the athlete instead of not recognizing the brand the is on display. You can even ask why they chose that cockpit over their original stock or another brand? Most readers are thinking about buying this kind of upgrade. Would be great to hear why they chose x brand over z. Touch points really matter, so aerobars and saddles are both critical to rider comfort.
I am making an assumption he only wants to give credit to the brands supporting him. Although it would be nice to know!
