Kristian Høgenhaug’s Aero-Optimized Quintana Roo V-PRi

Denmark’s Kristian Høgenhaug is know for his attention to detail on all things aero on his bike, and his ride for tomorrow’s race here in Kona is a sterling example of all that. He’s riding a lightweight Studio NEXT version of the V-PRi, which combines sterling aerodynamics with light weight – the frame and fork weigh in at 1,900 g.

Like Sam Laidlow, Høgenhaug’s extensive testing led him to go up a size for his V-PRi – he had originally planned to ride a medium, but found that a large was faster based on his riding position.

Høgenhaug worked extensively with Drag2Zero to dial in both the perfect fit and the best combination of aero components for his V-PRi. That includes the Drag2Zero.66 Pole System extensions.

The Danish speedster will also be using Shimano’s new Dura-Ace wheels, running the C-60 on the front and the pro-only C-99 rear for his journey to Hawi.

While Høgenhaug’s season hasn’t seen the impressive results we saw from 2025 (runner-up at the IRONMAN European Championship Frankfurt and IRONMAN Lake Placid), Høgenhaug finished ninth here in Kona the last time the men raced here.

  1. Someone tell Kristian both his tires are mounted in the wrong rotation direction. Oops!

There’s still time to fix it before bike check-in.

Never mind…heard him say he’s running Vittoria tires on raceday.

  2. Any idea where that bike computer mount came from? It appears to be MJF 3D printed, but commercially made. I’d like to find a way to modify my Tririg polymount to shove my bike computer right, tight between my bars, but need a lever type 1/4 turn solution (like this) to get the computer in and out.

  3. No base bar tape?
