Kona 2011 – Top 15 women on the bike

We present the top 15 female Ironman World Championship finishers on the bike and look closer at their gear. Fastest bike split this year belonged again to Karin Thuerig who cranked out a course record 4:44:20.

The Cannondale Slice RS

Here in Kona we had a chance to look a bit closer at the Cannondale Slice RS of Michael Weiss. The bike is actually still a prototype but we can expect to see a very fast split on it.

Affordable DA for 2012

This year's Felt superbike was superpriced. Next year's is super duper priced, if you want electronic shifting. But there's a Dura Acey version of it that's nicely priced, the DA4, showing up in September.

Quintana Roo CD0.1 (2011)

The CD0.1 has a unique narrative. Clever, really. An asymmetric down tube that moves air from the drive side of the bike to the left side, with a smartly-spec'd midrange kit at $3300 for a complete bike.

Kestrel 4000 Ult (2011)

If a Cervelo P3 and a Kestrel Airfoil Pro mated and had a baby, it would be the 4000. It is, stylistically, a fair representation of the heritage of high style that has distinguished the Kestrel brand.
