Mike Aigroz’s Look 596

Swiss Pro Mike Aigroz finished 6th in Kona in 2011 and just took 3rd place at the 2012 Challenge Roth. We had a closer look at his Look 596 race bike.

Armstrong Strikes Back

The Armstrong legal team filed a motion for temporary restraining order, attempting to block USADA’s hearing process that Armstrong claims is unfair. He concurrently brought his own legal action against USADA.

Judge Dismisses Armstrong’s Suit

Federal judge Sam Sparks dismissed Armstrong’s suit against USADA within hours of its filing, scolding the Armstrong camp for a “desire for publicity, self-aggrandizement or vilification of Defendants.”

Cunnama, Joyce supreme in Roth

James Cunnama ran a very fast 2:40:06 to take the 2012 Challenge Roth in a time of 7:59:59. Rachel Joyce took the women’s title and also earned the ETU Long Distance European Championship crown.

Vanhoenacker, Steffen win Frankfurt

Marino Vanhoenacker of Belgium edged Sebastian Kienle of Germany by 6:18 and Caroline Steffen of Switzerland smashed the women’s field with a near-record 8:52:33 to win Frankfurter Sparkasse Ironman European Championships.

Cunningham, Naeth take Rev3 Portland

Richie Cunningham’s better swim topped Jesse Thomas’s better bike-run to win by 23 seconds; Angela Naeth overcame Meredith Kessler’s better swim with a better bike-run to win by 2:18 at Rev3 Portland Half.

Dye, Bennett win Boulder Peak

Cameron Dye outpaced fellow Boulder pro Matt Reed by 3:18 and Olympian Laura Bennett outran Ironman 70.3 World Champ Melissa Rollison by 1:35 to win the Boulder Peak 5i50 Triathlon

Bennett, Williamson tops at Muncie

In an Ironman 70.3 race shortened to Olympic distance by dangerously high temperatures, Greg Bennett edged Josh Amberger by 1:13 and Kelly Williamson cruised past Jodie Swallow by 4 minutes 2 seconds at Muncie.

Challenge Roth 2012 – day 2
