Chris Lieto’s blazing bike trumped Andy Potts’ sizzling run by 24 seconds; Chrissie Wellington’s sizzling talent beat the women’s field by 16:40 at the K-Swiss Kansas 70.3.

Alexander and Carfrae run away with Rev3 Quassy

Craig Alexander broke Matt Reed’s 2009 course record – and his hopes of a $125,000 Rev3 sweep – as he ran to victory in Middlebury. Mirinda Carfrae erased a 7-minute deficit to out of T2 to repeat, and erase Julie Dibens’ hopes of a $125,000 bonus as well.

Brownlee returns on top at Madrid

Alistair Brownlee ran away from Courtney Atkinson at the ITU Dextro Energy WCS Madrid to take the win; and thus maintains his 2009 perfect streak despite months off due to injury.

McCormack and Giger win TriStar111 Germany

Aussie Chris Macca McCormack grabbed the win at the 2010 TriStar111 Germany with its 1k swim, 100k bike and 10k run distances. The women’s title in Worms, Germany went to Swiss Pro Michaela Giger.

Kriat, Tisseyre take Mooseman

Maksym Kriat of the Ukraine held off Graham O’Grady of New Zealand and Magali Tisseyre of Quebec, Canada edged Kate Major of Canada to win Mooseman 70.3 titles.

Spirig tops Madrid WCS

Nicola Spirig of Switzerland outsprinted newcomer Emma Charayron of France and Helen Jenkins of Great Britain to win the sizzling hot round three of the Dextro Energy World Championship Series race in Madrid, Spain.

DeBoom, Granger take Hawaii

White, Snyder win Cap Tex Tri

Nathan White took the lead from James Bales at the 5 mile mark of the run and Sierra Snyder led wire-to-wire on a hot day in Austin to capture the 20th Cap Tex Triathlon.

McKenzie and Macel in Brazil

Aussie Luke McKenzie led from start to finish at the 2010 Ironman Brasil Florianopolis to win his 5th Ironman title in record time. Tereza Macel won her 4th title, but had to fight Dede Griesbauer until late in the run.

New course records in St. Pölten

Filip Ospaly used a course record time of 3:46:02 to defeat a stellar field at the 2010 Ironman 70.3 Austria in St. Pölten. Yvonne Van Vlerken also broke the course record, but had to out-sprint Erika Csomor by 0.2 seconds to take the win.

Batelier, McQuaid win in Sardinia

Franky Batelier won the XTERRA European Championships in Sardinia, Italy by a very narrow margin over Olivier Marceau. Melanie McQuaid grabbed the women’s title and her first win of the season.
