The Shiv of Dan Stubleski

Daniel Stubleski was the overall age group champion at the 2014 GoPro Ironman World Championships and finished 24th overall with a 1:03:11 swim, 4:43:43 bike split and a 2:58:19 run for a total time of 8:50:22.
Once things calmed down after the race I looked closer at his Specialized S-Works Shiv.

Stubleski came, saw and conquered in Kona aboard this 74 schemed Shiv.

His position on the S-Works Shiv is relatively low.

Specialized switched over to Magura hydraulic brakes recently. It requires a special adapter, but Stubleski likes the braking.

The cockpit is very clean and straight forward with attention to color matching.

Stubleski only uses water in his XLab Torpedo and a gel water mix in his Fuelselage.

A look at the non drive side of the Specialized S-Works Shiv of the age group World Champion.

It appears that Stubleski has dropped the bike before, and I promise, it was not I.

Magura hydraulic brakes also under the chainstays of this 74 schemed Shiv.

Stubleski rides a Specialized Sitero saddle

A single XLab Gorilla cage is mounted to the Specialized Sitero saddle bracket with 2 spare CO2 cartridges.

A few emergency food items and the rest of the tire repair kit is in the Fuelcell of the Shiv.

SRAM Red cranks with Look Keo pedals and a Quarq power meter and 55/42 rings.

Zipp 808 Firecrest wheels front and back with Specialized S-Works Turbo 24mm tires.

1645 was the number to beat in Kona this year.
