The Felt IA FRD of Tim Reed
Aussie Tim Reed won Ironman 70.3 Buffalo Springs Lake with a great performance and here is our look at the Shimano equipped Felt IA FRD of this budgie smuggler.
Hey, may I show you my very trick Felt race bike.
Tim Reed rides a 54cm Felt IA FRD and he loaded it up so we can show our readers the complete setup.
For the rear wheel Reed opted for a Shimano PRO TeXtreme disc.
Tim Reed has 165mm Shimano Dura-Ace cranks with Atomic Performance coated chainrings. And yes there is a power meter.
Stages is the power meter of choice for Reed.
Up close with the front triangle of the Felt IA FRD. There is only a bottle on the seat tube.
Reed rides a Cobb JOF saddle and carries spare stuff below it.
It is a Schwalbe saddle bag that holds some of the goods.
It is not really surprising to find a Shimano drive train on a bike that has Shimano Pro wheels.
The XLab Torpedo sits between the arms of Reed and is his main liquid nutrition reservoir.
Reed has a Schwalbe Ironman 22mm tire up front on a Shimano Pro C75 tubular wheel.
The rear tire is a 26mm Schwalbe One.
Gels are stashed in the integrated storage system of the Felt IA FRD.
Tim Reed rides with ski bend extensions with minimal bar tape.
A Garmin Edge gives Reed the data during racing and training.
No tape needed for Reed on the base bars.
