WTC gives $100,000 for Gulf relief

The World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) announced a $100,000 contribution to the oil spill relief effort in the Gulf of Mexico yesterday and the first $25,000 will go to the Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans.

McCormack and Giger win TriStar111 Germany

Aussie Chris Macca McCormack grabbed the win at the 2010 TriStar111 Germany with its 1k swim, 100k bike and 10k run distances. The women's title in Worms, Germany went to Swiss Pro Michaela Giger.

DeBoom, Granger take Hawaii

Timothy DeBoom ran down Matt Lieto and Luke Bell to win the 2010 Rohto Ironman 70.3 Hawaii. Belinda Granger took the women's title with a very solid performance all day.

Batelier, McQuaid win in Sardinia

Franky Batelier won the XTERRA European Championships in Sardinia, Italy by a very narrow margin over Olivier Marceau. Melanie McQuaid grabbed the women's title and her first win of the season.

New course records in St. Pölten

Filip Ospaly used a course record time of 3:46:02 to defeat a stellar field at the 2010 Ironman 70.3 Austria in St. Pölten. Yvonne Van Vlerken also broke the course record, but had to out-sprint Erika Csomor by 0.2 seconds to take the win.

McKenzie and Macel in Brazil

Aussie Luke McKenzie led from start to finish at the 2010 Ironman Brasil Florianopolis to win his 5th Ironman title in record time. Tereza Macel won her 4th title, but had to fight Dede Griesbauer until late in the run.
