Matt Reed held off Joe Gambles by 1:35 for the $16,000 Rev 3 win in 3:59:28. Mirinda Carfrae took the lead at mile 7 and ran 1:23:07 to outpace Rebeccah Wassner by 52 seconds for the women’s title.

A new challenge on slowtwitch

Hewitt out sprints Norden

Tour of Sweden – day 14

The end of the 2009 Tour of Sweden has come but it doesn’t mean all was calm. John McGovern reports of thick headed reindeer, a fast moving stream, a fantastic face plant and a sad drunk.

Tour of Sweden – day 13

John McGovern’s 13th day at the Tour of Sweden included strong headwinds, desolate roads, the midnight sun, stupid reindeer and frolicking rabbits. To close out this training camp, a big party is scheduled for tomorrow night.

Tour of Sweden – day 9

While not as old and famous as the Giro D’Italia, the weary participants of the Tour of Sweden were also allowed a rest day today. John McGovern used this opportunity to further investigate the whereabouts of Swedish beauties.

Millward, McIlroy win Austin Pan Am Cup

While not eligible for Pan American honors, New Zealanders Callum Millward and Kate McIlroy take first place money at the Cap Tex Triathlon / Pan American Cup triathlon in Austin Texas on Memorial Day.

A pair of foxes, breaking the law, a wedding anniversary, a Burger King crown and a long breakaway were part of John McGovern’s 8th day at the Tour of Sweden. What more could he ask for?
