A 2014 Challenge Women gallery

Today was the second edition of the Challenge Women 5k run and walk and around 1,600 women took part and appeared to have a great time. In the inaugural event last year about 700 women participated, but this time the word of mouth recommendations had grown this event nicely.

The first of three waves is lined up and ready to go.

A bit earlier, friends lined up in various places before the run to capture the moment.

Closer to the actual start line a big party atmosphere was well appreciated and attended.

Danish Pro Michelle Vesterby was the lead cyclist for the first wave.

It is about time to go.

And they are off.

This female was the first athlete to come out of the forest.

Support along the way was appreciated.

The closer to the finish the Challenge Women came, the more fans were lined up.

And here is that finish.
