Fighting The Winter Blues

In the Northern hemisphere it is pretty cold right now, and with so much snow about in certain places one could sit back and complain, or go out and have fun instead. For example snowboarding in New York City, a swim challenge in the snow, and running on the snow when the streets are completely deserted otherwise.

Casey Neistat knows how to have fun and this snowboarding effort in NYC is maybe one of his best efforts to date. Along the way Neistat picked up a few other folks to tag along and that included the NYPD.

Well, clearly not everyone cam jump on a snowboard and cruise through NYC behind a car, but this should mostly serve as an inspiration to think outside the box.

Philadelphia triathlete and coach Mike Gadzinski's daughter swims for the Greater Philadelphia Aquatic Club and the team put out a 100 individual medley challenge. Mike's daughter obliged with much complaining, and rumor has it there were actually 2 takes. And clearly you don't have to live in Finland to go snow swimming

I personally live in Winston-Salem, NC where even the smallest amount of snow brings everything to a halt. Perfect however for running long through deserted streets. I did however encounter a few kids riding mountain bikes wearing shorts, and this 10k run is sped up to 4x speed.
