GP Sven Nys - men

Sven Nys started his 2014 cyclocross campaign with a win at the race that bears his name. The Belgian superstar took that victory on his new Trek Boone after having long time been associated with Colnago. Zdenek Stybar finished second and Niels Albert rounded out the podium.

The World Champion had a quick start and looked very much in control.

Over the small ridge they come much to the joy of the spectators.

On the next lap Sven Nys already had a nice advantage over all pursuers.

In what might be his last cross race, Zdenek Stybar showed that he is always dangerous.

Stybar was pushing hard but could not get close to Nys.

Niels Albert was hovering near the front too but it was not going to be his day.

When you are alone in the lead the bike swap is less stressful and crowded.

Rob Peeters had a great day and he was the only one who had msanaged to get back up to Nys, but in the end he finished fourth.

Tom Meeusen has his eyes focused on the competition up the road. He ended up in 5th place.

The leader disappears into the crowds with a comfortable margin.

One of the last clean grass sections is being used by Thijs van Amerongen.

Coming home to take the win is World Champion Sven Nys.

Clearly happy with his new bike.
