This coming weekend Tucson, Arizona will be the place to be as the 2nd annual TRIFEST will be happening then. A triathlon expo, group rides and runs, a raffle, clinics and several pros highlight the 3 day extravaganza.
The event officially kicks off on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 7:00am with a scheduled group ride up Mt. Lemmon led by Jimmy Riccitello. According to event organizers, last year over 150 riders participated in the optional ride including both age group and professional athletes.
On Friday night 6-time Ironman World Champion Dave Scott will be the speaker during the TRIFEST keynote dinner. The dinner is meant to be social and allows people to mingle with industry experts, equipment vendors, professional athletes and other TRIFEST attendees.
The Multisport Expo will open Friday afternoon at noon and will be open all day Saturday and Sunday. Featuring vendors from across the industry, this expo will have the latest and greatest product offerings for 2009. The lineup of vendors is enormous and you can check out a complete list of exhibitors right here. This is a great opportunity to touch, feel, demo or buy new products before the season begins.
The Multisport Conference begins the morning of Saturday, March 7 at the Tucson Convention Center and features speakers such as Chris Carmichael, Joe Friel, Sarah Haskins, Steve Hed, Andy Potts, Dave Ripley and Bob Seebohar. Your chance to get training and technology insight from theses industry experts.
Plus of course the weather in Tucson ain't too shabby at this time.
