Dan Hugo and Flora Duffy took the top podium spots at the $50,000 XTERRA Asia-Pacific Championships in Callala Beach, Australia, and here are images from the day courtesy of XTERRA.

"Great to win a championship, probably my first of this stature, it’s been a while coming. I grew up knowing Australia as the pinnacle of triathlon, where are all the legends are from, so to win in my first race here is special.” said Dan Hugo who won the men's title.

"It all came together. I felt great coming into T2 after a really tough bike course and just hammered the first 2K of the run. I just focused on my turnover because I knew Nicky is a strong runner and I wasn’t sure how far behind she was," said women's champion Flora Duffy.

After a superb swim Courtney Atkinson was first on the bike.

Conrad Stoltz was a bit under the weather and pulled out of the race in T2.

Ben Allen had a great ride and closed the gap to Atkinson together with Dan Hugo and Roger Serrano.

But on this day Dan Hugo had the best bike legs and he pulled away from the others.

Brad Weiss had a solid day and ended up fourth.

Nicky Samuels was first on the bike at this event.

The best bike split however belonged to Flora Duffy and she took over the lead.

On the way to third place, Jacqui Slack looked very smooth.

It would be a fifth place finish for Renata Bucher.

With a great effort in all 3 segments no one was able to touch Dan Hugo.

ITU Pro Branden Sexton seemed to enjoy this muddy experience very much.
