Bauer and Mutscheller win 2008 Winter Tri World Cup opener

Austrian Sigi Bauer and German Sigrid Mutscheller started the 2008 Winter Triathlon World Cup season with convincing wins on a tough course in Valberg, France.

In the men's race, Sigi Bauer pretty much led from start to finish and crossed the line after 1:16:48. Andreas Svanebo (SWE) was more than a minute behind him and Daniel Antonioli (ITA) crossed the line in third another minute adrift.

2007 Winter Triathlon World Champion Sigrid Mutscheller showed her strength in the women's race on a relatively tough bike course. Once on the bike, Mutscheller was never really challenged and eventually crossed the line more than 4 minutes ahead of second place Sarka Grabmullerova (CZE) and another 4 minutes up on third place finisher Anke Kullmann (GER).
