Cameron Dye of Boulder, Colorado and Annabel Luxford of Australia won the men’s and women’s elite titles at the 29th Columbia Triathlon.

Dye combined a 2nd-best 16:59 swim with a dominant 56:18 ride to take the lead and held on for the win with a 6th-best 34:40 run to hit the finish in 1:49:41 with a 2:37 margin of victory over defending Columbia champion Andrew Yoder.

While Dye's bike split was good, it was 1:46 slower than Yoder's 2011 course record split of 54:32. Dye's finish time was 10 seconds faster than Yoder's 2011 winning time.

Ben Collins finished 3rd, 17 seconds behind Yoder and 22 seconds ahead of 4th place finish James Seear of Australia. Chris Foster of Redondo Beach, California ran a race-best 32:54 10k but his 20:25 swim and 1:01:10 bike left him 9th overall male.

Annabel Luxford’s 2nd-best 18:48 swim, race-best 1:06:01 bike and 2nd-best 39:20 run brought her to the line in 2:06:18 with a 59 seconds margin of victory over Leanda Cave of Great Britain. Laurel Wassner, the 2010 Columbia champion, took 3rd, 12 seconds back of Cave.
