Tim Reed was second at Ironman 70.3 Mandurah, but this fast Aussie budgy smuggler had one of the fastest bike split on his Shimano equipped Felt IA FRD - 2:00:36. We had looked at his race bike just a few months back, but he has tweaked it since, and won Challenge Gold Coast too.

Tim Reed in action during the 2014 GoPro Ironman World Championships and it appears he prefers the Faris Al Sultan bottle storage method.

The Felt IA FRD of Tim Reed was locked and loaded for action in Kona, but it was a learning experience for the Aussie.

The cockpit of Tim Reed consists of a Felt Bayonet III basebar, 3T skibend extensions and the new Torhans Aero Z BTA bottle.

Reed added skateboard grip tape to his basebars to avoid taping them.

Reed has opted for a 22mm Schwalbe Ironman tire on the Shimano C50 front wheel.

Reed has been on a Cobb JOF saddle for a while, he however changed the the set it up.

He used to carry a spare kit below the JOF, but now he has zip tied a cage there instead.

Reed is on 165mm Shimano Dura-Ace cranks with a Stages power meter Atomic Performance coated outer ring and Dura-Ace pedals.

Reed is a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 man.

Reed now has a Torhans bottle in this place. Just a few months ago a regular cage was on the seat tube.

A Shimano C75 wheel in the back / or a Pro Disc depending on the course with a Schwalbe One 26mm tire.
