Looking quite majestic before the race start.

Even a 2-time Ironman World Champion has nervous anticipation.

Time to get ready.

Tim was second out of the cold water.

The sun came out here and there for the athletes.

Beautiful challenging roads.

And up we go.

Pushing on to get that 200k bike segment over with.

Tim was hounded most of the day by the 2009 champion Tom Remman

The sun came out again for the run.

The run is relatively flat - early on.

No one promised roads or smooth terrain for the whole run.

It was relatively cool early in the day but turned quite warm later.

Crossing the line in first place was sweet reward for the hard effort all day.

The support crew hard at work.
