Several people had thrown around the idea of a specific Triathlon festival / trade show but to this day it ha not really happened. Yes there are a few races that have expos attached to them and actually last a few days, but that is not exactly what we are talking about. We mean a multi day stand alone triathlon festival that offers a consumer expo, manufacturer and coaching seminars, rides and much more. It now appears that Trifest 2008 in Tucson, Arizona will step up to the plate.

From February 26 through March 6, TRIFEST 2008 invites triathletes from around the world to sunny Tucson, Arizona and its world-class training grounds. According to Nik Hobbs of TriSports.com, this 10-day event features triathlon training camps, a consumer triathlon expo and a triathlon conference featuring industry-leading speakers such as Slowtwitch’s Dan Empfield and triathlon legend Mark Allen. Several triathlon companies and coaches have also committed to the event and the list keeps growing. "Keep your eye on the trifest.com site and you'll be amazed who will be there and what you can learn and experience here," added Hobbs, "but in all honesty, the scenery and riding opportunities here are well worth the trip without any other perks."

“While we are planning the event, it is not a TriSports.com event. We really feel like it is another way for us to give back to the sport and provide an avenue for athletes, vendors, and industry people to get together in celebration of the upcoming triathlon season,” added Hobbs.
