We Noticed: Rapp camp, naked ....

We noticed a Rappstar camp eBay auction benefiting Amy Marsh, a new salted caramel Bonk Breaker flavor, a clever integrated ENVE computer mount, a smart Lazer helmet by LifeBEAM, a naked army of athletes fighting cancer, and a new hub from Boyd cycling.

Rappstar Training Camp opportunity

Amy Marsh still is fighting cancer and many folks have now come forward to help Amy and Brandon Marsh out during this difficult time. Jordan Rapp will be at a Precision Endurance training camp at Lake Conroe in Texas in mid April and he is offering 2 all inclusive (except travel) spots to that training camp via an eBay auction that is running right now. Accommodations and meals provided by La Torretta Resort & Spa and you will likely have many stories to tell once you return from that unique experience. Retail value of these 2 spots, which must be grabbed together, is $3,200 and here is your chance to have a great time and do a very good deed.
MSRP: You be the judge.

Bonk Breaker Salty Caramel

I do not know anyone who does not like caramel, and salty caramel sounds especially delicious. Bonk Breaker now offers a Salty Caramel energy bar among their vast selection of goodies. To be precise, Salty Caramel is the 10th bar flavor for this California brand that also has 4 protein bars and recently also started to produce fruit chews. The Salted Caramel bar will give the happy customer 330mg of naturally occurring electrolytes and 260 calories. Word has it that these bars can be had now, and thus the wait is over. The only question now is, when will we see a Banana - Nutella offering?
MSRP: $30 for 12 bars

ENVE computer mount

ENVE introduced several new products yesterday and among them we discovered this very clever computer mount that was designed to match up with the ENVE road stem. At first glance I thought that the mount is part of the stem cap, but it obviously is a separate unit that gets attached to the stem with longer bolts. It is reversible and can either be mounted high or low, but I personally prefer the lower more aero looking position. It is compatible with the Garmin 200, 500, 510, 800, 810, 1000, Touring and Touring Plus and weighs 26 grams. It is not yet on the ENVE site, but likely will be there soon.
MSRP: $40

Below is a look at the parts of the new ENVE computer mount.

LifeBEAM smart helmet

LifeBeam offers a Lazer Genesis helmet that measures heart rate, calories and performance with an optical heart-rate sensor and a 3-axis accelerometer and via Ant+ connects to Garmin computers, and to apps such as Strava, Map My Ride and Endomondo. LifeBeam also offers a smart hat and visor, so you don't have to run through the neighborhood with your helmet on. Word has it that LifeBEAM was developed to monitor the vital signs of astronauts and pilots, but now you too can take advantage of that technology. It comes with a carbon case and a soft bag and is available right now.
MSRP: 229

Balls Out Challenge

Cancer is sadly still a very terrifying issue for folks around the world and more and more people and organizations have stepped up to fight this disease. In the UK the Balls Out Challenge is using a humorous approach with virtual naked running, triathlon and cycling fundraisers among other stunts and hey, why not ride your bike with just a fig leaf in front of your privates for a good cause? The site encourages people to challenge others, and if nothing else, hopefully it will inspire people to step up and do something.
MSRP: priceless

Boyd Eternity hubs

Boyd Johnson of Boyd Cycling showed a new Eternity hub system at the North American Handmade Bike Show and he has put a lot of thought and many hours of sweat equity into this project, and the man is now beaming with pride. The Eternity hubs offer very wide flange spacing and bearing stance and 5.6 degree of pawl engagement. Johnson also thought about drag resistance and keeping grit and grime out.

In the Boyd video below you can hear the man himself explain why he is so excited about it. But be sure to watch to the very end.
Available: End of March
MSRP: $580
