What We Have Noticed: Nuun, Kask ...

We looked closer at the Nuun All Day tabs, the Kask Mojito helmet, the Zegama Aizkorri trail marathon, The Road Back book and the Drop The Hammer t-shirt.

Nuun All Day

What: It is quite easy to be drawn to sodas, juices or various delectable caffeinated drinks, because drinking plain water is not always satisfying. But while these other beverages may taste delicious, they just are not good for you. Nuun All Day comes to the rescue here with 4 delicious flavor options of tabs that have under 8 calories and a blend of vitamins, so you can truly consume those all day. Drink up.

Kask Mojito

What: If it is good enough for the Sky Team, it must be acceptable for us ordinary cyclists. Well, the Sky team actually uses the Kask Vertigo helmet we believe, and the Mojoto is a slightly less expensive version from that brand. But you know that and most likely none of your friends would be able to tell the difference, plus it appears most of the technology found on the Vertigo can also be seen on the Mojito. And Mojito is certainly a much more fun name.

Zegama Aizkorri marathon

What: The 2012 Zegama Aizkorri marathon just happened last weekend, and that tough event takes place around the Aizkorri massif in the Basque region of Spain. This bucket list worthy marathon allows you to conquer 17,716 feet of elevation gain while running on trails, and below is a look back at the 2012 edition of this event. Mud, sweat and sore legs, what else could you possible want? Venga, venga, venga.

The Road Back

What: The Road Back is the very inspiring story of Matthew Miller’s recovery from a terrible accident on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia, as told by Pulitzer Prize winning author Michael Vitez. Most of us are familiar with the return of Jordan Rapp from his terrible accident to winning 2 Ironman titles and the ITU Long Course Triathlon World Championships, but most of us do not know the story of Matthew Miller, who was a member of the University of Virginia triathlon club at the time of the incident. Matthew in fact also returned to compete in an Ironman event, and The Road Back describes in a beautiful way the grit, determination and grit of his path.

Drop The Hammer t-shirt

What: You can Drop The Hammer in all kinds of sports, but we mostly seem to enjoy it in cycling. Eddy Merckx was especially well known to use this race tactic, but we could certainly also point to a few present day triathletes who live by that mantra. Either way, the Drop The Hammer t-shirt is from Breakaway t-shirts, a fairly new brand by Kacha Azema.
Sizes: S-XL (plus women’s)
