What We Have Noticed: Suunto, Eleven Gear...

For this issue of What We Have Noticed we spied the Suunto Ambit GPS watch, the Eleven Gear Traffic Master jersey, the SLS3 Butterfly socks, the Celtman Extreme Scottish Triathlon and the very clever Tool Dots.

Suunto Ambit

What: Suunto is jumping into the GPS fight with the recently launched Ambit watch. Featuring GPS navigation, altimeter, 3D compass and heart rate monitor in a very attractive package, but with a pretty serious price tag. $550 with the heart rate monitor strap and $50 more with one, but hey, this way not everybody has one.
Colors: black face (featured), silver face
Available: March 2012
MSRP: $550 ($600 with heart rate strap)

Eleven Gear Traffic Master

What: The Eleven Gear Traffic Master is very bright, and we do mean bright, so you can be the master of the traffic. Well, maybe not the master, but certainly very visible to other folks. This jersey even has the Universal Vehicle Code $11-1205 on the sleeve, just in case you need to be reminded or someone else needs a refresher.
Sizes: S through 3X
MSRP: $98

SLS3 Butterfly socks

What: SLS3’s Butterfly compression socks are actually quite cute and unlike various other socks do not need to be worn under other garments. But it isn’t all about looks here, the folks at SLS3 actually know a thing or two about compression, and they do have more than just socks. Plus they give a buck of each item purchased to the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.
Sizes: XS/S, S/M and M/L
MSRP: $58

Celtman Extreme Scottish Triathlon

What: We love unique events, and the inaugural Celtman Extreme Scottish Triathlon promises to be quite an epic experience. Inspired greatly by the Norseman Extreme Triathlon, there will be quite a few things similar (small field size and you need a support crew) to the established Norwegian one, but CXTRI venue is much more remote and the course appears to be very brutal. Sold out for 2012, be sure to throw your hat in the ring for 2013.

Tool dots

What: Some of us actually do work on our bikes, and others might actually even be fairly handy around the house. But what to do with all those tools? The new magnetic tool dots come to the rescue here and allow you to organize the tools in an orderly and very clean fashion. Plus why carry a tool bag under the saddle if you can just “stick” them to the toptube? Not really, but someone is bound to try that out.
Sizes: Tiny, Mighty, Scalable
MSRP: $14.95 for 12
