Blue Seventy's pointzero3 swim skin gets FINA approval.

Blue Seventy announced yesterday that they got their pointzero3 swim skin approved by FINA (Fédération Internationale de Natation). That would thus mean that USAT and WTC would be hard pressed to not allow the pointzero3 at their races. Plus other wetsuit / swim skin companies are going to try to get their suits FINA approved too, and/or get started on developing one if they have not yet. It also still remains to be seen whether these suits are truly faster, and if so by how much. Will that then possibly mean that all swimming records may be rewritten in the very near future?

"During the 2007 Ford Ironman World Championship, there was an amazing 3 times as many participants wearing the pointzero3 compared with all other brands combined" beamed blueseventy CEO Tim Moxey, and added "as FINA is recognized by the International Olympic Committee this denotes the pointzero3’s availability for use in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and beyond. It also allows pure swimmers to have access to these new suits for competitions and that’s a huge deal."

The most recent Slowtwitch survey currently shows that at least 54% of triathletes on this board would consider buying a swim skin. Now let's see some data, because this is possibly what the remaining 46% are waiting for.
