Sebastian Kienle conquered the winds, the sun and the competitors at the 2014 GoPro Ironman World Championships with a race best 4:20:46 bike split and very solid day otherwise. We now looked closer at his Scott Plasma 5 fresh from the race.

This German proved to the world that the race can be won with a superb bike effort. A feat also done by fellow Germans.

Kienle rides a 56cm Scott Plasma 5 with SRAM and Zipp components.

Kienle rode Zipp 808 clinchers front and back with Continental 23mm GrandPrix TT tires.

It is known that Powerbar supplies athletes with unique bottles, but this one appears to be a covered Specialized Virtue Aero one.

Instead of a BTA drink system, Kienle uses the integrated one in front of the headtube.

The storage on the top tube still had a single Powergel left and showed traces of the effort from yesterday.

Kienle rides on a Prologo Zero TT saddle that nicely matches the paint scheme of the Plasma 5.

Behind the saddle Kienle has 2 XLab Gorilla cages and a repair kit with tube, lever and a spare valve extender.

The strong German pushes 175mm SRAM Red cranks with a 55 tooth big ring (42 inner), and is not using a power meter. Cassette is 11-25.

As we said before, he rides on Zipp 808 wheels with Conti GrandPrix TT tires.

Kienle decided to tape his number to the seat post. He told me he actually likes sticky numbers.

And next year we should see a number 1 on this bike.
