The Canyon of Nils Frommhold

German youngster Nils Frommhold finished second at the 2014 Datev Challenge Roth after a supreme effort aboard his Canyon Speedmax CF. His bike split of 4:15:16 gave him a nice lead over all pursuers, but Timo Bracht managed to reel him in. We snagged his bike the day after the race to take a closer look.

Obviously the man had some nutrition on his bike when he started the event, but that was all gone when we saw it. The bike was also surprisingly clean.

Frommhold rode very hard during the race and eventually his tenacity up front allowed him to pull away.

Ergon saddles are not very common on Pro triathlon bikes - at least not in North America,

Frommhold bought this inexpensive behind the saddle cage holder while in Arizona in 2012, after the previous one came to an unfortunate end.
