Wahoo is proud of this new powerful yet simple GPS bike computer they call ELEMNT. It is currently on display at the Interbike show in Las Vegas and we took a closer look. The unit measures 2.3" x 3.5" x 0.8" (57.5mm x 90.5mm x 21.2mm) and the display size is 2.7" (68.6mm). The measurements are similar to those of the Garmin 810, which measures 2.0" x 3.7" x 1.0" (51mm x 93mm x 25mm). Weight is listed to be 3.5oz. The setup is simple and done via a smartphone camera, and as a matter of fact, the whole setup and customization is done via smartphone. If the user wants just a few fields on display, that is easy enough, but the user can opt for as many data fields on the screen as the eyes and mind can handle. The ELEMNT also features programmable LEDs on the side and the top for critical alerts and data. For example, it can give turns prompt, speed feedback, and text and phone call alerts. The ELEMNT integrates with Strava and Ride with GPS, and battery life is reported to be about 17 hours.

With only 2 fields on display, the numbers are massive and very easy to read.

The 3 or 4 field option is likely the most common way to set up the bike computer.

A toggle on the right hand side lets you scroll through the various screen options, including this one that would probably be too much information to me.

Once outside, the map loaded quickly and lets user add all kinds of rides.

The Wahoo ELEMNT comes with a road bike, triathlon bike, and stem mount.

The units on display at Interbike are late stage prototypes but this is the final production box.

The ELEMNT works nicely with the Wahoo KICKR and the KICKR SNAP, and you can ride some of the routes you added to the ELEMNT.

Retail for this new unit will be $329 and it will be available in mid November. It is 100% wireless and all sync, acquire, and push data comes via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
