2014 Challenge Roth - awards etc

The awards and the volunteer party of the Datev Challenge Roth take place the day after the race, and we were there to capture images from these two events. The awards are in the morning and that is also when folks in town have the opportunity to register for next year's race, and the hugely popular volunteer party is in the early evening hours and most of the Pros return for that event to thank all the people whose passion and dedication make such massive races possible.

Athletes finally at the front of the line for the 2015 Challenge Roth registration can now mentally get ready for next year.

Athletes lined up as early as 4am, and here is a section of the line at 11am.

Almost there for these 2 athletes and they seemed happy and excited.

Every year the German Triathlon Magazine somehow prints the race calendar that goes from August to July overnight with race images from the day's event, and sells them during the awards.

Sister Madonna Buder was presented with a copy and shown her image in this year's calendar.

2014 Datev Challenge Roth champion Timo Bracht signed many autographs all day.

Brit Catherine Faux was again the fastest age grouper and she was the 6th female overall. She had hoped to go sub 9, but 9:09 is nothing to sneeze at.

At 7pm the volunteer party got started and without folks like this we could not be racing.

There was food for everyone and everyone's taste.

The Pyraser beer company handled all beverages as a long time sponsor of the event, and like all German brew companies they offer soft drinks and sparkling water too.

And they have a variety of beers of course.

Each year oat the Challenge Roth volunteer party a lot of prizes are given out via a raffle.

The volunteers start at a very young age and usually stay true to the brand and the event.

One of the Challenge Roth announcers still showed signs of the previous day's activities.

It was another good year in Roth and now it is time to put this away.
