A dramatic female Grand Final event in London saw the hopes of two athletes crushed on course but British fans were made happy with Non Stanford taking the win and the WTS series title.

The race is on in very clear wetsuit legal conditions.

Rounding one of the buoys knocked German favorite Anne Haug out of the race.

And back in the water they go for the second lap of the swim.

A fairly large pack dealt with wet and cold conditions in London.

Jorgensen crashed early on and would not finish the race.

The front bunch was driving hard and not deterred by the conditions, and Non Stanford was very prominent at the front.

Stanford was quick through T2,but had to serve a 15 second penalty for a T1 infraction.

The leaders were already well up the road of this group with GBR well represented.

Stanford established a lead large enough to serve the 15 second penalty and still come out ahead of the chasers.

Sarah Groff looked very good running in the runner-up spot.

But the chasers were not that far behind.

The 2013 Grand Finals winner is Non Stanford and she also took the WTS Series title.

Aileen Reid outsprinted Emma Moffatt for second place.
