Livin' On Tulsa Time

After kicking the tires of Des Moines, Fayetteville, and Memphis, the next full distance Ironman will commence at 7am or thereabouts... Tulsa time.

It's the first full distance Ironman triathlon added in the United States since 2014. The race will take place Sunday, May 31, 2020. That is not Memorial Day weekend (the race will take place the weekend following Memorial Day).

The race is title sponsored by Certified Piedmontese Beef, so it's the Certified Piedmontese IRONMAN Tulsa.

The swim will feature a rolling start, and will take place in will take place in Keystone Lake in Mannford, OK. Water temperatures are generally in the low-to-mid 70s.

The bike ride will take place in the Osage Hills and that make up the “Green Country” of northeastern Oklahoma. It will finish in downtown Tulsa at Oklahoma State University (a school with an especially noteworthy distance running pedigree).

The run is flat and fast, will go through downtown Tulsa, and to the River Parks Trail System, finishing at Guthrie Green.

General registration for race will open on Wednesday, June 19. It will offer 40 age-group qualifying slots to the 2020 Ironman World Championship in Kona. A professional prize purse will be published at a later date.
