Verzbicas, Bennett win Dallas Pan Am Cup

Competing for the first time since withdrawing from January's PATCO Pan American Championships with a shin injury, sub-4 minute miler Lukas Verzbicas topped USA teammate and 2012 Olympic qualifier Manuel Huerta by 1:03 to finish in 1:57:56 and record his first career Pan American Cup victory. Joe Maloy finished third in 1:59:10 to give the U.S. men a 1-2-3 sweep.

Laura Bennett finished in 2 hours 10 minutes 22 seconds posting her second ITU podium finish of the season. She also placed third at the ITU World Triathlon Series event San Diego on May 11 to lock up a spot on her second consecutive U.S. Olympic Team. Canada's Joanna Brown was second in 2:10:50, and fellow Canadian Manon Letourneau took third in 2:13:00.
