Chann grew up in Plano, TX where he was a childhood friend and teammate of Lance Armstrong. The two followed very similiar paths growing up together and trained and raced together in triathlons, cycling, and running. Chann competed as a professional athlete starting at 22 years old and raced for three domestic teams prior to joining Mapei Cycling Team (1999-2001) and United States Postal Service Cycling (2001-2002). He has raced the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España, among many one-day and stage races in Europe and around the world. Some of Chann's impressive career results include a 5th place in the 1999 World Road Cycling Championships, 17th overall Giro, 19th Vuelta Overall finish, and U.S. Pro National Champion title. He is intimately involved with his athletes and coaches, expertly seasoned, wise, and very experienced in the physical, strategic and mental battles both on and off the race course.
