General Information
Club Info: We are an active volunteer board organization that has regular training events and monthly meetings. We support the CAF as our major charity and our members range from newbies to very experienced Ironman finishers including one individual who has completed 50+ Ironman races. We schedule speakers for our monthly meetings to inspire and educate our membership and put on at least one "members only" triathlon and a bike time trial each year. All are welcome.
New members receive a tri tank with their membership and are immediately recognizable at races and enjoy the support of other club members while they race. Club Sponsors: Rock N Road Cyclery is our premier sponsor. One Tri is also a club sponsor, as is Renegade Racing, Triathica, Tri-Zone,and The Run Shop.Dynamic Touch Massage is a new sponsor this year as well. They support the club financially and by offering member discounts. Club Discounts: The club negotiates with race directors for club discounts at various Southern California races and our club sponsors offer discounts to members on all equipment necessary to the sport. We have received more than a dozen wetsuits that were raffled off at club meetings from another sponsor. Directions to Workouts & Meeting Location(s): Our club meetings are usually held at the Duck Club in Irvine. It is a very cool facility offered for our use from the Irvine Ranch Water District. It has outside bar-b-que facilities and picnic tables. Since we offer a pizza and salad dinner to members at club expense normally --during the summer we have had two bar-b-que dinners prior to our monthly meetings. The Duck Club is off of Michelson Drive and Riparian in Irvine. It is close to the IRWD maintenance facilities and the cross streets are Jamboree and Michelson. Club Workout Schedule: The club posts a calendar on our website of daily workouts. They are too numerous to list here but they include open water swims at Lake Mission Viejo and at Corona Del Mar on Thursday nights and Saturday mornings.Weekend brick workouts are also part of the regular calendar. Members can participate to whatever degree they wish. We encourage members to use the calendar to see who will be attending what workouts and to use the club meetings to find training buddies. Club Meetings & Events Schedule: Club Meetings are the fourth Wednesday night of every month. They always include a dinner and sometimes an outdoor activity before hand. They start at 6 PM-6:30PM and are usually finished by 8 PM. August 2009 the CAF Auction and Dinner in Laguna Niguel substitutes for our regular club meeting.
