Club Info: Lansing Triathlon Team (LTT) is a group of team members dedicated to the sport of triathlon, representation of it's sponsors, as well as service and enthusiasm for fitness within the surrounding Lansing, Michigan community.
We believe that the healthy individual is the foundation of a healthy community. As such, we will seek to embody healthy lifestyles that balance nutrition, exercise, spiritual & relational health. In this way, we hope to inspire others in our communities to do the same.
We also have a special place in our hearts for the youth of our communities... they are our future! In 2013 we reached out to the South Lansing Community Development Association to partner with us to bring to Lansing the largest full length youth triathlon - the Hawk-I-Kids-Tri. In 2022, we separated from SLCDA and are hosting our own kid's triathlon event, the Capital City Kid's Triathlon. We seek to create an inclusive, fun & inspiring environment for these future health-minded community leaders & triathlon pros!
We began our inaugural season in the spring of 2011, made up of 5 racing members & 1 additional non-racing member. Over the years we've added many talented athletes, some who are still with us & some who have moved on.
Our membership is by application, once annually in the fall. New members are voted on by majority team vote and announced at the beginning of the new season. Club Sponsors: We are sponsored by several local businesses. Club Discounts: We have multiple discounts available to members once they apply and are voted on by majority vote. Directions to Workouts & Meeting Location(s): As we are not a club, but rather a "by application/ by vote" team, we do not have public workouts posted but our team members are always happy to connect with other local athletes to train together. Club Workout Schedule: As we are not a club, but rather a "by application / by vote" team, we do not have public workouts posted. However, our team members are always happy to connect with other local athletes to train together. Club Meetings & Events Schedule: As we are not a club, but rather a "by application / by vote" team, we do not have public meetings posted. We do meet together as a board usually once a month and we do have official team meetings at least 2x a year in addition to our less formal team meetups after sponsored races.
Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
