Speedplay steps to the plate

At the 2014 Interbike show Speedplay impressed folks with many new offerings, including an aero cleat system. But there was even more.

The new Zero Aero Pedal System in the hand of Speedplay founder Richard Bryne. We have no data about the drag savings, but it seems obvious that it is better than a standard pedal cleat engagement.

Here the Zero Aero Pedal is separated from the walkable cleat.

Speedplay also offers cleat buddies for the walkable cleats to protect them from dirt and grime.

When not in the cleat the cleat buddies connect nicely and can be stashed away in the jersey pocket.

The Zero Pave system is an all-condition road pedal that has been offered to Pros as a custom option, but is now available to you and me.

The long awaited and discussed mountain bike pedal from Speedplay is also a reality now. It features Ceramic-Roller-Cams to prevent the binding of pedal and cleat during release.
