M. Van der Poel's Zannata

Dutch Junior Mathieu Van der Poel has been dominant all season, and his win at the UCi Cyclocross World Championships was equally emphatic. The World Championship stripes on his Belgian Zannata Z46 Cross race bike were covered with white masking tape during the race and we tried to stop the mechanics from removing them, so we could get the "as raced" pictures, but our requests fell either on deaf ears or were lost in translation. It doesn't really matter though, it is the same bike.

With the course mostly covered in snow the Junior bikes were not terribly dirty.

Van der Poel uses Shimano Dura-Ace Di-2 components.

Stem, bars and seatpost are from Dead.

The Selle San Marco Concor saddle matches the bike nicely.

Dura-Ace cranks with the Di-2 battery mounted low on the down tube via the water bottle mounts.

Well worn Shimano XTR pedals.

The Di-2 derailleur was working hard.

Van der Poel rides Cole wheels.

TRP RevoX Carbon brakes.

Dugast tires of course.

We will hear a lot more from this young man.
