Kona 2023 Bikes: Maja Stage Nielsen's Cervelo P5

Maja Stage Nielsen comes into Kona perhaps undervalued in terms of her racing prospects; at least *ahem* this editor did not include her in the pro preview. But based on her second place performance at IRONMAN Texas in extremely warm conditions, where it took a blistering marathon from Kat Matthews to win, perhaps this is Stage Nielsen's time to shine. Let's look deeper at her Cervelo P5, with images from Korupt Vision.

Like Anne Haug, Stage Nielsen's P5 is usually in this brilliant green color that transitions to purple in certain heat/light conditions.

It's the first time I've seen these Vuka extensions, with the integrated blip in them. Very neat.

It's a full SRAM / Zipp outfit for Maja. Here's Zipp's 858 mated to a Continental GP5000 tire.

Stage Nielsen is one of the few athletes utilizing a 1X drivetrain. It's Force here, with a 52 tooth front chainring.

Out back, it's another Zipp 858, and like Haug, another athlete with the CeramicSpeed lower pulley system with aero shielding.

Count Stage Nielsen amongst the Gebiomized Stride riders. It's proving ever more popular with the pro field.

Like most athletes, Stage Nielsen has a rear cage mounted behind the saddle. This one's mounted more vertically than others you'll find tomorrow.

A better look at how the paint transitions on these stunning Cervelo P5s.
