Course Info: 2023 will be the 2nd year for Cheaha Extreme Triathlon, a long distance triathlon taking place on an extreme race course set in the tallest peaks of Alabama at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains. There are many long distance triathlons in North America but most take place within large cities, with runs on paved roads, and very little elevation gain. Following the extreme triathlon model that is super popular in Europe, Cheaha Extreme Triathlon will have about 15,000 feet of elevation gain over the 135 mile course, with a road bike and a mixed surface run. Athletes are required to have at least one person in their support crew with a support vehicle. On this amazing journey of a race, you will experience stunning mountain vistas, steep climbs, blazing fast descents, waterfalls, and much more. Register now to secure your spot at the "High Place."

Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
